And when we first met,
Dr. Caligari, he gave me a small
rounded container made of
gelatin. It was filled with a
nauseous and acrid dose.
I swallowed and was never the same.
Now, my nights are full of wonder,
and my days are full of dreams.
Darn that man, Caligari. I
love him so.
What the hell are dreams anyway? I'd rather not be dreaming at all!

Happy Birthday James!
What a good sport, putting up with the song and sombrero."Just how much did he love those amazing ninja cupcakes", you ask?

I was a busy bee today!
After months of blowing off my own personal needs, I went out and had a shopping spree. I also got my first haircut since last summer. Came home and started making cupcakes for James' birthday. I think I started around 5:30pm, and I had so much fun with the fondant that I was still creating when Morgan came home nearly six hours later. :|
Not bad for my first time:

Apprently 2001 is the best DVD to use when setting up a new TV.
We've been saving up for a few months and after I got off work today I decided that we had waited long enough. Yaay for us! Today's photo isn't very neat, as my energy was all for getting the TV set up ASAP. Tonight I learned about refresh rates, which explained why I was tripping balls while watching Indiana Jones. Can't wait to turn on the XBOX. :)

Inspired by yesterday's disastrous attempt at creating delicious rainbow cake, I decided it wasn't too soon to try again. I used vanilla cake-mix and divided the batter into six bowls. I had the little people choose the colors and mix them into the batter. They plopped spoonfulls of colored batter into the pan until it was full. Baked, and then topped it with lemon frosting. As messy as this project was, I can't wait for us to try it again!
It looks like fruity pebbles:

I was itching to make something colorful, so I created these today.
Made entirely from scratch, they took longer than the recipe stated. They were like sweet, dense muffins so I topped them with frosting and called them cupcakes anyway. Morgan ate one and had no complaints. Went down to my folks' for the weekend. Of my little siblings, the first ate only the frosting on his, the second wiped the frosting off and ate her cake, while the third devoured his whole. A fun little experiment, but I think I'll stick with the boxed stuff.

The past few days have been strangely sunny, and it felt really nice to walk home with the sun on my back and cool air in my face. I may have taken a bit longer to get home than planned. I pushed back my duties so I could watch Penelope. What a great movie! I'd put it up there with The Princess Bride, minus the swashbucklers. I've got to please the romantic in me sometimes.

Kitty aka Fat Kitty, Lardykins, Shitty Kitty
Came home to find Morgan and Jamie watching Haunted Junction. Ehhhh. Went down south to Best Buy to pick out our new TV, and then went to make an appointment to donate plasma on the 6th. Sara came by and we headed even further south to (piss off her cat and) hear Hunter play at the Mirkwood. Finally, something better to do with my Wednesday nights than rot my brain with Lost.
All in all, a good day.
Here're two more for good measure:

Valentine's Day
Morgan and I spent the weekend at his folks house while they were in Las Vegas. We started the day early by taking Gus down to Sea-Tac so he could go to California and spend time with his love. Morgan said we could do anything I wanted to do today, and since flying to Greece didn't sound like a reasonable option (to him), I opted for finding sweet manna from heaven in the form of Hawaiian food from L&L in Lynnwood. Went out to dinner at Jimmy's Italian in Stanwood, and spent the rest of our free time playing video games and relaxing. A Valentine's day very well spent! :)

Ready to get some... air miles!
Gift from the gods, and a childhood favorite - spam musubi. Morgan loves it!
Last but not least, the inside of the interactive card Morgan made me. Yes... I am aware.
I guess it's great that he is doing something with those creative drawing skills!

There have been a few occasions this last week where it took me a long time to arrange the objects around me - as well as my own body - into positions that best suited my plan to create the picture in my head. I've nearly broken a few things and become slightly stiff from holding the camera at crazy angles for too long. Then it hit me - TRIPOD. People buy them for their mobile phones for Pete's sake, why shouldn't I get one for my photo project? I just found out they make bendy ones! I also found I've been living under a rock.
Needless to say, today's photo is one of those sweet occasions - the curtain came down just in time! This is closer to what I had in mind:
Close, but no cigar. Could've used that handy tripod!

I had way too much fun grocery shopping with Morgan tonight. Continuing the James Bond series in a few minutes. Aaaahh, how I love Sean Connery.

Spent the evening watching James Bond flicks. We also watched The Rock as a joke - it's fun to use our imaginations! ;)

Went south to watch Hunter play an open-mic night. He was great! He truly appears much more comfortable in front of an audience. I took some really nice photos of him on stage, but he liked the "trippy" one. Actually, that's the one I took on accident, but I agree - it is fun to look at.

Made it home an hour early today and caught up on movies (again) with Morgan. Watched: Appaloosa and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Appaloosa had a few great moments. For me, any movie featuring Seth Rogen can feel a bit too long, but I loved Zack and Miri. It was absolutely sweet while still being pretty dirty.
