Little boy in blue
puts a silly face on to
show off his big eyes.

This face always has me laughing!

Pretty woman, her
cups runneth over and my
eyes pop from my head.

Tonight was a night of firsts. Morgan and I started by heading south to Jamie's Best Buy for a new hard drive. Not a first, but we tried not to distract him and thought we were slick until he called us later and accused us of being sneaky. Then headed out to Morgan's friend's house using simple GPS coordinates - a first for the two of us. He got to see some old friends for the first time in about a year. Headed down to Sam's in Smokey Point, who we hadn't seen in almost two years! Spent hours chatting, then headed down to my old work to check out the new place. I got to see my favorite ex-coworker and catch up with him. I've avoided that store for near three years. Boy does it look great! You can take the girl out of the sex-shop but you can't take the...well you know what I mean.

'Ere's another photo for good measure:

Feeling bored at work,
but I never miss a chance
to learn something new.

Gold like the sun, red
like a rose, are the colors
of food on my face.

Mambo Italiano for lunch. Left a weary work-day late and came home to Morgan's yummy cooking and a cold bottle of beer. Yes!
Got caught up on a few more movies: Pineapple Express and Eagle Eye. I actually like James Franco now, and I think Morgan may hate Shia LaBeouf less than before.

Lisa, knock of that -
Oh. I feel this beautiful
sound will revive me!

This woman played outside my work for hours. What stamina! Combining the cold and the vibration of the mouthpiece, I bet her whole face was numb by the time she left. It was a treat to hear her. I hope she made some dough!

Crazy window view
gives me pure outlook on the
quality of life.

As someone so delicately put it on moving day two years ago, "I think this place is crooked." Thanks.
This photo of the front window in my living room serves as evidence to that claim. You can see that the top and bottom of it run at different angles. That, and the fact that you can set a ball on the floor of my hallway and it will roll without help down to the other end of the apartment. Bless this mess.

Also, here begins my week of haiku.

This Spuds MacKenzie lamp was $125.00!

Went downtown and visited some antique stores with Morgan. These are my favorite days, when we can go exploring. Came home in the afternoon to catch up on a few movies we had missed out on this last year: Tropic Thunder, I Am Legend, Iron Man and Doomsday. I loved them all! Although, Doomsday was just funny. I Am Legend was so cool! All in all, a perfect day.

Here is another photo for good measure:

My super-fuzzy and very awesome guitar case.

I spent most of my day dreaming about playing music and most of my evening actually playing. I really want a new keyboard.

The painted brick building is so old, it would slide over without the help of the two around it. I wonder what once stood where I was when I took this. Considering this town's history, I'm betting it was a brothel!

Out to dinner.

I'm happy to be alive during this time. Maybe one day when I am old and gray I will tell my great-grandchildren about this amazing passed year in world history. Hopefully by then everything I'll have to say will be old news (but in a good way).

Tree with a squirrel infestation. Yes, of course they're not here now. That's how they trick you.

I read last night about the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World. The first in the list is where my mom's side of the family is from. I have not been there but when my mom talks about it I really get a sense of her affinity for the ocean. It is in her blood, as it is mine. Really though, my name is derived from "sea nymph." What a beautiful coincidence that turned out to be. As a former Navy brat, I still have not experienced life by the sea in ways that she has.

Yum!

I spent most of today experimenting. I baked a German pancake that was entirely inedible, then played around with my camera and then my guitar. I found my heating hair curlers from years ago, and had some fun with those. Went south to Jamie and Alicia's in the evening for cheap pizza, paired with Chambord & 7UP. We is classy.

Today was the birthday party for Morgan's niece, Nonabelle. She turned three today! Her mommy, Tia, made and decorated the sweets.

This is the best I could do for today, and it wasn't even my creation. That is the skull replica I brought home from Bodies: The Exhibition when it came through Seattle a few years ago. On top is Sara's hair.

There is loads of graffiti in the alley behind my apartment. I went looking for one I used to see when a shortcut through the alley was part of my daily routine. It was a stencil of a girl in a dress with an umbrella, and over her was a bomb. It was spray-painted in red. I couldn't find it, but when I walked closer to the wall where it was, a woman in a long red coat and umbrella walked out from behind it.

After work Morgan and I went for a drive. We ended up at Peace Arch State Park in Blaine. With Canada being twenty feet away, it made me eager to get my passport renewed. I've been really lazy about it. None of my pictures of the Arch are as cool as this one. We drove through Birch Bay and I took this while speeding by. This guy was the only bird of his kind in view.

This picture makes me so thirsty!

Today was simply a rainy day. Took a path I rarely travel anymore on the way home today, which is where the berries are from. I had a quiet evening.

011

Today we gave the last of our Christmas gifts. Went south for dinner with friends we had not seen in months. Ate and King's Buffet, which is possibly the most fun mixed-cuisine restaurant ever. The item in the photo was from the smoke-shop next door. It looks like it was made out of paper maché and decorated entirely in Camel cigarette boxes.

Double digits have finally arrived!

I went home to my family's today to celebrate my dad's birthday. As usual, it is pretty busy in the house but I had fun. My dad got a 52 inch LCD TV (pardon any wrong lingo). Maybe today's picture should have been of that. Here is my little brother Zack, instead. Who doesn't love a cute kid eating cake?

Went today to get a free copy of the student-only local coupons book that Western Bookstore hands out with every purchase. We like our pizza with extra savings. The photo above is of one of the dorms. Spent the rest of the day thrift store hopping for old jewelry to reuse.

I'm hoping to make a little extra cash by selling handmade jewelry on Etsy.com. I'll post a link to my online store when it is ready for business. Visit Allison's while you wait.

These are figurines on my bookshelf. One is a picture holder and the other is a plastic toy. My two favorite creatures: mermaids and Han Solo.

Jolie was trying to catch a fly that was buzzing around the lamp. She sat there for a long time before finally putting her paw up into the shade. She has been good company on the days that Morgan has been at work during these last two weeks of winter vacation. Tomorrow I am back to work and she'll be queen of the house again.

003
Today I finally decided to hike up Sehome hill, starting with a walk through Western's campus (pictured above). Everthing was white and it was starting to snow again on the way up. At the top of the hill is an 80-foot wooden tower with an aerial view of Bellingham Bay, and the northernmost part of the city. The view is much better seen than photographed.

002
I spent the latter half of the day shopping for video games and movies with Morgan. We brought home the most recent Batman flicks and had a mini-marathon. Yay for the batman! I only made it an hour into movie#2 before I slipped sweetly into sleep.

New Year's Day

I spent the first day of the year lazing about with Morgan at home. We drove south in the evening to grab Italian food before exchanging Christmas gifts with friends.
